As we move into 2022, our Triple Crown Design Team is sharing some popular trends they’re seeing transition into the new year.
1. The Kitchen:
We’re seeing a lot of creativity in the Kitchen! A simplistic feel in the kitchen is becoming more desirable, but where do you put everything? For appliances, we’re seeing more coffee nooks, unique appliances, creative spaces, bigger islands, and more. Speaking of islands, we’re seeing two-toned islands being on-trend, as well as using the space creatively for additional storage for appliances and more. Here is some inspiration of what you can do with your island, pulled from some of our recent custom homes.

2. The floor plan:
As we know open floor plans have been trending for quite a while, we see this continuing onto 2022 and the years ahead. The open floor plans are welcoming, allow natural light to circulate, as well as ease of flow throughout the house from room to room.

3. The Flooring:
We’re seeing more and more flooring choices, and unique ways to apply them in the new year. As wood plank tile is becoming more and more popular, it’s also becoming a reliable and safe choice for your home. Moreover, they now come in 24×24” planks which creates the appeal of a bigger and open space. In addition to more variety of wood planks available, we’re also seeing fewer knots in flooring and more of a clean and simple look.
As if you didn’t have enough options to think about, how would you like to lay that flooring? Some unique ways to introduce different flooring into your space include your entrance, dining space, foyer, and beyond. Some design trends we’re seeing, and have done recently include herringbone and different textures and materials throughout the home.
